Bizarre apparent credit card fraud and identity theft I think I have a possible fraud situation, however the mechanics of the fraud and how I should respond are stumping me. - Yesterday I got a bunch of texts with login codes for "shop pay" which is part of Shopify. I thought it must just be someone who wrote their phone number wrong and ignored them. - I check my email today and there's 8 or so different orders, almost all to my address (but one to the same address but with the city/state wrong, and another to an address I don't recognize at all), with my name and billing addresses matching the shipping addresses. The ones that have the card on it list a visa + last 4 digits I don't recognize. Some of the orders got cancelled later, some did not. - The orders all seem to be from valid emails to legitimate looking sellers: fioboc.com, byte.com, pelacase.com, jolieskinco.com (sent via a t.shopifyemail.com address), ivycityco.com, etc. - I can't find any fraudulent transactions to any of my accounts. I cross-listed all of my accounts with my credit report just to make sure I wasn't forgetting about something. - I pulled my credit report (just managed to get Equifax and Experian, TransUnion site crashed while I was loading the report and now they say I've already gotten my one free report allotment). Everything was normal: no new card that I didn't recognize, nothing new for the past 5 years. No hard inquiries, and not even any promotional inquiries from a business that I'm aware of providing visa cards for almost a year. I placed a freeze on all of them; unfortunately I hadn't frozen them in advance. - It's been a little more than 24 hours, and 1 business day is gone, but none of the tracking numbers point to packages that have shipped. However, they have been issued numbers, so that's not out of the ordinary in my book. The only one to a dramatically different address This seems like there's some sort of credit card fraud happening, I just don't understand
