Campaign Narrative

Based on 6 community reports, tristezas.com operates a sophisticated scam that exploits Amazon's platform to steal money from consumers. The scam follows a consistent pattern: customers place orders for products advertised at attractive prices, but after checkout they are redirected to Amazon and instructed to purchase a $50 PlayStation Network gift card. Victims are then required to send the digital gift card code to tristezas.com, ostensibly to complete their order. Once the scammers receive and redeem the gift card code, the victim's money is gone and no product is ever delivered.

The reports, dating from late 2013, show that tristezas.com sends fake shipping confirmations to maintain the illusion of legitimacy, and when products fail to arrive, they send bogus "reshipped" confirmations to buy more time. One report indicates the scammers operate multiple similar websites including fsllb.com and tmteleven.com using the same PlayStation gift card scheme. The use of unique domain names appears deliberate, allowing scammers to flood search results with fake positive reviews before consumers can post warnings about their experiences.

If you encounter tristezas.com or similar sites requesting gift card purchases to complete orders, do not proceed. Legitimate retailers never require customers to purchase gift cards as payment. The Amazon redirection and gift card requirement is designed to bypass fraud protections and make chargebacks impossible once the digital codes are redeemed.
