Campaign Narrative

This number is part of a coordinated loan approval scam that generated over 4,000 reports to the Better Business Bureau in the first ten weeks of 2026. Callers leave voicemails using fake names like "William Huffman," claiming a personal loan of $52,000 has been approved. Victims who call back are asked to "verify" their Social Security number, bank account details, and employment information.

The operation uses dozens of toll-free numbers running nearly identical scripts. When one number gets flagged, scammers rotate to the next. FTC complaint data shows debt reduction scams account for 26.9% of all Do Not Call complaints, making it the single largest scam category in the database.

Related numbers in this campaign include (304) 309-1963 and (518) 777-3532, both reported by the same victim receiving identical loan pitches. High-volume numbers like (866) 959-0960 (751 complaints), (855) 909-0848 (306 complaints), and (844) 986-5454 (296 complaints) follow the same debt reduction playbook across the same geographic footprint.
