I am concerned for the safety of the alleged owner(s) of the coinmarket.io exchange. I don't have a solution to this situation, but I think it should be brought to reddit's attention. Users of the coinmarket.io crypto exchange have been struggling to withdraw their coins from the exchange since mid-February, and communication from coinmarket.io has been extremely poor. This has led to people on the [bitcointalk support thread](https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=454186.new) to suspect that coinmarket.io is a scam, and speculate about who the owner(s) might be to track them down. It appears from the last few pages of that thread that an alleged owner has been identified, his address is known, and that there may be a danger to his life. It appears that one person identified has recently protected his Twitter account. These may be empty threats, but they also may not be. Another exchange has been identified, cryptoex.cc, that is alleged to have been created by the same person/people, which has fuelled further anger. Personal information has been posted of those who were identified from coinmarket.io's whois data. I'm one of the users who stands to lose out if my coins are not returned (hence why I have been following the thread), but I'm not comfortable about these developments. It is not proven who the owner is, it is not proven that it's a scam, violence is not the answer in any case, and it would do cryptocurrency in general no favours to be associated with vigilantism.
