Dresden Acoustics? Uh... no. I live in Bed Stuy, Brooklyn. Walked out of my apartment, two guys in minivan stop. "Hey" says on guy, " you know anyone who wants to buy a home theater system?" I'm like, "Maybe. What do you have?" They pull over, and the driver steps out, and opens the back of the minivan. He's got maybe 6 5.1 systems (think Bose style systems with those tiny satellite speakers and sub-woofer). He shows me, "Look, they retail for like $3500". I see that, yes, on the box it says MSRP $3500. So anyway, here are my initial problems: 1.) I just paid my bills, and am $35 overdrawn. 2.) I don't like these types of systems, and I own a very nice full-sized Polk system with discreet components. 3.) I don't make snap purchases on the street without knowing what's up. He does the barter thing with me, and we get down to $200/per system. Very fishy, if they retail for $3500. Anywho, I don't have the cash on hand. So, we exchange numbers, and I say to call me on Friday when I have cash. He texted me today. I asked for pics. He said I could go to DresdenAcoustics.com Whadaya know... there are the two types of systems he was selling. The site is obviously a "put up" site (totally FAKE). All of the links point to empty anchor tags (yes, I know web development). So, I do some more research on these systems. Seems they've flooded the gray market (Craigslist, ebay, etc.) in just this past month. I find them going for $250-$2000. Total. Scam. I texted him back. "Did some research. I'll have to pass. Thanks for the offer" So, if somebody offers you a "deal" on a home theater system from Dresden Acoustics, make sure you pass. They're probably picking them up for $50 a pop. Okay, I should have bought one (if they would've taken $50, which I did have on me at the time of the initial offer) just to do a tear-down for a post. Maybe someone out there can do it? Anyway, I usually take a look at opportunities like this (shady deals on the street) because you
