I received an email from [email protected] offering a job position without any specific details. I am almost sure they got my info from Indeed, because it is the site where I was searching for jobs, they asked to schedule a meeting with the founder to learn more about the company and pay. The link https://calendly.com/company-founder/invite-only-meeting, allowed me to choose a slot for the next day, Sunday, after that, I immediately received an email from [email protected] with the meeting details, day, and time, then, I received another email from [email protected] , Jacob (Founder), confirming the appointment and requiring me to join this meeting link: https://event.webinarjam.com/t/click/1ykogipwfm1u1k42wh2gr09tlzmpgckqir. On the same day of the appointment, I received another email from Calendly and a text message, so they have all my contact information. I accessed the interview; the guy, Jacob, provided the details of the Travel Agent position. About an 1 hour after, he asked all the assistants to click a link to buy an Error & Omission insurance for $97, I noted it was unusual to be required to pay a monthly fee to be "licensed", which is suspicious. I ended the meeting. I made this report to advise others not to fall into this scam. [BBB Scam Type: Employment] [Business: BWJ Agents] [Location: FL, USA - 33018]
Summary of Suspected Scam Encounter with “Book With Jacob” I received an email from someone identifying as Jacob (Founder) at [email protected] , inviting me to schedule an interview. The email provided no details about the role or the company. After scheduling, I was sent a link to join a webinar: ?? https://event.webinarjam.com/t/click/m9ov8c77a5wb5586zb009v7tg158nixpug I joined and engaged in the chat for about 30 minutes, during which I began to notice red flags: The messages in the chat seemed generic, repetitive, and not human. The entire webinar appeared to be pre-recorded rather than live. This prompted me to investigate further. I found: The Instagram profile associated with the name: @bookwithjacob A Reddit thread describing this exact scenario as a scam: SVH Travel Scam – Reddit The official website: https://bwjagents.com, which includes: A phone number that does not connect to a real person. An upfront payment requirement to "join the company." To confirm the prerecorded nature, I visited the same webinar link in another browser and observed the exact same bot messages and flow, verifying that the event was not live.
