[US] Cryptocurrency Class Action? https://gyensettlement.com I received an email today regarding a class action settlement involving GYEN (the yen-pegged stablecoin Coinbase listed during the 2021 chaos), and I’m trying to determine whether this is a legitimate settlement process or an extremely elaborate phishing/social engineering attempt. For context: I traded GYEN heavily during the Coinbase launch volatility in 2021. My total transaction volume was probably around \~$100K, but I only netted about \~$1.5K profit overall. Importantly, I was able to exit my position before Coinbase froze trading, so I was NOT one of the users who got trapped holding the asset afterward. That’s part of why I’m confused about my eligibility. From what I understand, GYEN was marketed as a stablecoin pegged 1:1 to the Japanese yen, meaning it was intended to maintain a relatively stable value rather than behave like a normal speculative crypto asset. However, during its Coinbase launch, the peg temporarily broke, price volatility exploded, panic buying/selling followed, and Coinbase eventually froze trading activity. Many users reportedly got stuck unable to exit positions while the price rapidly collapsed back toward the intended peg. The notice I received references: Donovan v. GMO-Z.com Trust Company, Inc. (U.S. District Court, Southern District of New York) The strange part is that the settlement itself appears fairly legitimate: \- court case numbers appear valid, \- settlement PDFs and legal filings exist, \- the claim administrator responds from matching domains, \- there is a manual paper claim option, \- and the documents look consistent with other real class action settlements I’ve seen. The claim portal redirects through Simpluris (claims administrator), and the wallet verification flow states that access is “view only” and cannot perform transactions on my behalf. There’s also a paper claim option that allows submission through transaction documentatio
