I have pasted the two emails sent to me. The formatting felt off and the expectation for me to start right away made me uncomfortable. Email 1: I hope this message finds you well. I will explain more about this position now and also follow up with more instructions via text message. It's easier to communicate that way. You will be able to ask me questions, and I will be able to explain every step of the errands, etc. This position is entirely remote, meaning your location does not matter. You can work from anywhere. You can start as soon as you receive your first weekly paycheck and instructions for your errands. You will only be required to work 2 days a week, with flexible hours totaling 4 hours per week. You'll be able to complete your errands during your spare time. Also, you can work safely from home or locally, without travel. I applied to two jobs on Handshake with RGUINTO CONSULTING LLC sometime in Janruary, last week I got an email from Shelley Cordes (the supposed president). Not a real person. The website seems to be legit at first but there is no details and everything is vague. I was approached with this email: Hello George, I hope this message finds you well. My name is Shelley Cordes, and I am the President of RG Consulting LLC, based in California. You recently applied to our job posting on Handshake.com. But I found other people have received the same message from the same email. .css-1w6dufj{-webkit-box-flex:0;-webkit-flex-grow:0;-ms-flex-positive:0;flex-grow:0;-webkit-flex-basis:auto;-ms-flex-preferred-size:auto;flex-basis:auto;wid [BBB Scam Type: Employment] [Business: RG Consulting] [Location: RI, USA- 02919]
I filled out an application on Handshake.com. They responded and had me do an informal writing-only interview. I passed and was forwarded to the next steps. One of the next steps was to send me a check to deposit into my bank account. They then wanted me to send them the amount via wire transfer or Zelle when it cleared. I was already suspicious at this point, so I started calling the company's number, but it didn't work. The person I was sending the money to was not even in Michigan; they were in San Francisco. I applied to a job listing on handshake.com which was for an Art Gallery Assistant. I was then sent an email from someone named Shelley Cordes which stated the following: “ Hello ****** I hope this message finds you well.
