I applied for a job of Data Analyst for PepsiCo a few days ago and received an email that seemed suspicious a few days later. I was told to continue the application on jobhiringplc.com, but since nothing about the email seemed official, nor did they have their official logo or watermarks, I did some more digging and realized it was a job posting scam. In my resume I have my city location, phone number and email, which was sent to the company during my application. Applied to a remote position for Netflix on LinkedIn for office clerk Thursday night. Rec'd a message in a text stating to review my email to proceed to the next step stating that submitting the information was essential to continue with my application. The email is from "Lauren Thorpe, Hiring Manager." When skeptically proceeding to my email, I see that the link directs me to https://jobhiringplc.com/ and begins asking me to fill in information and obtain a credit report to send to them. At this point, I KNEW this was a scam and started researching this. I saw this happened to others so I'm just reporting it as well. Here's the emailed message: Dear ***** ***** Thank you for your interest in the Office Clerk – Remote position with Netflix (US). The job was advertized on LinkedIn as the Administrative Assistant – Remote for Spotify (US). After I applied, I realized that I couldn’t click on the company’s name which immediately prompted me to think it was a scam. They emailed me, asking to follow the link https://jobhiringplc.com/ (please see the Reddit discussion about that scam, and do not click on the link directly).
