My wife and I wanted to get a puppy and came across a really professional looking website called kingsmastiffsfarm.com. There is no exact address and when I called a dog owner from the city that was listed, she told me that she never heard of that place. We were asked for a down payment before they would supposedly ship the puppy out to us. When we asked for more information, about the puppy and they're exact address, they wouldn't give it to us. The person that my wife talked to on the phone from "Kings Mastiffs Farm" was also really hard to understand. Just want to warn people of this potential scam. My wife was helping my brother in-law look for a mastiff puppy and came across this website kingsmastiffsfarm.com. It was based in Crosby Texas and the website looked legitimate with customer testimonials and pictures. My wife contacted them through the website and received a text message within the next hour saying we received your inquiry about this puppy. She exchanged messages for sometime and asked about the process of purchasing the puppy. How the transport works and how long it would be until we received the puppy. Once that was all clarified, a price of $970.00 was agreed upon for said puppy. My wife then received a phone call from a man with a heavy foreign accent who was hard to understand. He told her they only accepted Zelle or Cash App. This should have been the first red flag, but with the way things are we thought maybe they were trying to protect themselves from being scammed. Once payment was sent a tracking number and shipping information was sent about an hour or so after. My wife then received an email from freight company handling the shipping asking for an additional $1,800.00 for insurance coverage that is refundable. I immediately told my wife no and to not proceed with any transactions. The person continued to contact my wife trying to convince us we need to do what the shipping company says otherwise the puppy will not ship. We told the person to cancel the transaction and we do not want to move forward. He replied I can’t do that right now I’m at work and I would have to file a lot of paperwork. Luckily the transaction says pending on our end and we are contacting the bank to stop the transaction due to it being a scam first thing in the morning. I just want other people to be aware of this puppy scam and they should be stopped. [BBB Scam Type: Phishing] [Business: kings mastiffs farm] [Location: NJ, USA- 08533]
