Some questions about custom domain emails I am seriously considering getting a custom domain for emails in an effort to get some privacy and some idea about who is selling my email address to spam lists, etc. These would be my personal emails, not affiliated to anything work related. I wanna know if anyone has had negative experiences with using custom domain emails, like say, ● if a company/institution/service/app/financial institution/utility company, etc. refused to register you if you use a custom domain in your email. For example, if XYZ Bank refused to accept the email address **xyzbank@myemaildomain.com** to register you for their banking services. ● if anyone / any entity misused the fact that you have custom domain, in any way (I wouldn't know how, hence I'm asking) ● if you actually saw an uptick in spam after using a custom email domain ● how does SSL work for custom email domains? Will I need to have SSL enabled at domain level, or will the email provider's servers be responsible for it, or both? ● some other experience or caveat I probably should know before making this leap Any and all advice would help a lot. P.S. I am not asking for suggestions about a domain or email service provider. I am asking for user experiences with having a custom domain email for personal use.
