Community Reports

Propertyrecord.com mimics the county assessors website and charges $1 or $2 for records. They then sign you up for a monthly "subscription" without asking for consent for $30 per month. There is no way to login to your account, they give you a link every time you want to access your information and there is no way to unsubscribe, look at your payment information, or see your 'subscription' in your account. When I called, they could not explain what the subscription provides only that I had '716 credits' in my account--this data was not available in my account on the website--only provided over the phone. This website preys on citizens thinking they are using secure assessor websites and scams individuals per month until people figure out the fraudulent charges and call. They say they will refund the charges but I have not seen any money come back into my account. Capital One is aware and has blocked the recurring charges on my account but how many other individuals are being scammed by this "company?" .css-1w6dufj{-webkit-box-flex:0;-webkit-flex-grow:0;-ms-flex-positive:0;flex-grow:0;-webkit-flex-basis:auto;-ms-flex-preferred-size:auto;flex-basis:auto;width:calc(100% * 12 / var(--Grid-parent-columns) - (var(--Grid-parent-columns) - 12) * (var(--Grid-parent-columnSpacing) / var(--Grid-parent-columns)));min-width:0;b [BBB Scam Type: Online Purchase] [Business: PropertyRecord.com] [Location: WA, USA- 98001]

I attempted to look up property records on the free County (Hawaii) website and was fraudulently redirected to their site (propertyrecord.com). I was charged what I thought was a one-time fee, then was recharged again monthly. There was no mention of the other charges or recurring charges to come. I spoke with them on the phone and they are supposedly issuing me refunds in full, but not enough time has passed to verify this yet. Similar things have happened to me before. I would like to report this so others will be forewarned, and hopefully shut down the business. [BBB Scam Type: Phishing] [Business: www.propertyrecord.com] [Location: HI, USA- 96790]
