Most Futureproof Email Provider So, I'm looking into finally getting unlazy about my data privacy and have been doing a bit of research about email providers. Protonmail and Tutanota seem to be universally acclaimed, and I'm happy to follow that advice. However, I do wonder about their staying power and I'd obviously like to pick the one that is least likely to go bust in the next 10-50 years. I have a number of different emails I use for different purposes, so I definitely want a multi-account package. Being a cheapass, I'm tempted to go with Tutanota (1.2€/month) over Proton (5€/month). But somehow Tutanota's being so cheap makes me wonder about its staying power. I also have the (obviously biased) intuition that a Swiss company (protonmail) is more future proof than a German company (Tutanota). Am I wrong. If so, why? Thanks in advance. EDIT: for anyone who's wondering, here's a bunch of good arguments agaist trying to host your own encrypted mail server: https://security.stackexchange.com/questions/92985/why-do-security-experts-like-snowden-use-email-services-like-lavabit-and-hushmai
