[US] Scam ? Insisting on Monroney Labels for used car sale. Showing pictures of text conversation here between a potential buyer of a used car up for sale (2001). The conversation started off with Normal questions about the vehicle, then picking a day/time , offering cash etc. then he starts asking for a report- sure, that’s reasonable. I send a car fax and good car report. He then says he wants the original Monroney sticker to verify trim. Which can be pulled from the 2 reports I provided plus countless other ways. He insisted and provided www.monroneydecals.com . I had ChatGPT check the legitimacy of that link and it was created 4 months ago. Costs anywhere from 12-55$ to get this sticker. I feel this may be a new scam - there were similar posts on here but not exact wording. I just wanted to warn others. I didn’t buy anything and a potential buyer can do this themselves if needed! Haven’t even come to see the Car in person yet. Seemed like a huge red flag to me.
