I think I have been scammed, what should I do? **Long version:** The other day I downloaded a trial of [this video converter software](http://www.aunsoft.com/video-converter/). The trial did work as intended, but it leaves a watermark, so I decided to buy the full version (I feel stupid even typing that). Submitted my information through their [shopping cart](https://www.mycommerce.com/swreg), get the activation link in my email, and... "sorry, our servers are down." It hit me right then something was wrong, did some digging online and learned that I fell for a scam. I went straight to my bank, told them what had happened and cancelled my cc. They advised that I contact the software company to cancel the payment, but I'm worried that if I try I might provoke them. The shopping cart was done through what looked like a https, so I assumed it was secure, but I'm concerned that they might have everything that went along with the payment including my address, name and number. They don't have a number to be reached at, but should I email them stating I want a refund? And if I cancelled my card just an hour after purchase, will they even get the money? **Short version:** Tried to buy some software that looks like it's a scam, bank cancelled my card but said to contact the company to get a refund. Should I try to contact the scammers or leave it be? Reasons why I think it's a scam: [reviews on the software company](http://www.scamadviser.com/check-website/aunsoft.com) and [reviews on the shopping cart vendor](https://forums.digitalpoint.com/threads/is-swreg-org-a-scam.1074803/).
