How to get a friend out of an MLM? A friend of mine recently started peddling "IT Works" products on his facebook page. "IT Works" is a company/scam that sells things like body-wraps and other non-sense "healthy living" products through "distributors." All the classic signs of an MLM scam. The worst part is that he's a nurse (a nurse!) who should know that anecdotal evidence doesn't trump clinical trials and scientific research. I even sent him [this WebMD article](http://www.webmd.com/beauty/spa/body-wraps-what-to-expect?page=2), but to no avail. He just kept telling me "Bro, I've seen the results. This stuff is the real deal." Here's a link to the companies website: http://www.myitworks.com/crazywrap/Wrapreneur/ and distributor section. Any other ways I can go about convincing him to knock it off and focus on his career? This is a guy who works at one of the best hospitals in NYC, and for some reason he's wasting his time/money on this stuff. I just don't understand it. I was thinking about also sending the following articles, but I haven't really talked to him that much since college so I didn't want it to look like i was being creepy: http://www.ripoffreport.com/r/It-Works-Marketing-total-scam/internet/It-Works-Marketing-total-scam-itworksnet-we-will-help-you-lose-inches-and-cellulite-Int-622900 http://www.forbes.com/sites/groupthink/2011/12/13/16-work-at-home-scams-to-avoid/ So have any of you had success in talking someone out of an MLM? It seems very difficult to cut through the bullshit and making them realize they should cut their losses, ya know? ([Sunk cost fallacy](http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Sunk_cost_fallacy) and all that) Thank you /r/scams!
