I received a call from 279-399-5530 someone claiming to be from a law office but would not give me the name of the law office. She stated I defaulted on a payday loan from check n go in 2019 for a loan over $2,000. I explained that I never took out a loan for anything anywhere in 2019 and that I hadn't had any interactions of any kind with check n go since 1997. She was belligerent, rude, and threatening me with a lawsuit and being served with court papers. I told her I thought she was a scam and she said "Fine then you will be served and go to prison" and hung up on me. I called check n go and they stated they have nothing of any kind with my name on it and that they have gotten numerous calls from people about the same thing. They didn't even offer loans of that much at that time and I didnt make enough at that time in my job to qualify for anything over I believe it was $5 or 600 dollars. the only loan I had with check n go was paid off in full in the 1990's. This is the second time I have received a call from a supposedly law office last year 2025 in February stating the same thing and i called check n go then too and they stated they had nothing with my name on it then.
