I was contacted by William Edgar, a Talent Acquisition Specialist from BXB Media via email on February 18th. In the message, it says that they received my application (which I don't recall applying for in the first place, but maybe saw my LinkedIn Profile or Zip Recruiter Profile, who knows) and that they'll be in touch with me on what the next steps of the hiring process are. I was then contacted by Mr. Edgar again on February 20th about filling out a questionairre which I did and emailed it back to him. I was contacted by him on Monday, February 23rd, stating that I got the job and I had to read, sign, and date the attached offer letter via email. Additionally, I was contacted via email from Senior Human Resources Manager, David Yates, on the same day, giving me further instructions on choosing a computer/laptop for the job and other information about my position, including submitting my driver's license for identification purposes. I responded to the email, but I felt very suspicious because they didn't bother asking me to do a background check on me, like any employer is supposed to do in the first place. To further understand if this job offer was real or not, I called BXB Media by calling (313) 651-7157, and I spoke to Noelle Daniels. I asked Mrs. Daniels if I could speak to Mr. Yates. She then asked me a series of questions about how I learned about the Remote Video Editor position that I received via email, and after answering her questions, she told me that the job offer was a scam.
