Call 1-408-444-3246 for a fake contractor scammer. This is the first time they've given out a callback number. I also got two individuals to give "their" contractor's license number (a felony). It's normally somewhat hard to get them to do that. If you wish, please tell them "Heather" referred you and that you need to replace windows and that you want to speak to "Mr Parsons" from Nation Remodeling. (I told "Parsons" my name was Heather, then I gave them the runaround for 20+ mins about windows) The guy you call is at a different level in the scam and might genuinely not know what you're talking about. But he'll be happy to listen to you talk about your building projects and he probably does report back to "Parsons". When I called, the guy who answered just said "hello" and I asked "Is this Nation Remodeling?", he said "yes". Nation Remodeling *is* a real business but these scammers aren't with the business, they're just using the business' license #. If you call, you might even ask: "Is this [madeup name]" to see what he says. The phone number is for San Jose, CA. I recorded it but don't have time to edit and post it until later today or tomorrow. **EDIT**: We think this may be an arrangement where several businesses/individuals are using one license #. The original license holder may have given them permission to do this, but it is still illegal. The address where the guy claimed the business is located is a residence almost 400 mi away from us. Yet he claims he has a contractor in our area to come give us an estimate. This address (as well as other info) differs from the address on the California State License Board website.
