My garage door became jammed. It was Sunday. I called my regular garage door repair-- a trustworthy business, but he doesn't work on weekends. I panicked, while I should've waited for Monday to contact my regular contractor. I went online and found this website and the 909 area code number, from a web-page that had the same pictures as the link I've provided (but now the phone numbers keep changing on that web-page). They sent a repairman and his truck, and he quoted me $240. Here and there, through his visit, he would ask if I wanted parts replaced, including the large springs installed in automated garages, and I just assented to it. I knew what the price of those parts were with my regular repair service, or some of the parts. He was here for 3 hours. I asked for the damage in dollars, and he quoted me $4,200. I was outraged. I wanted to get rid of him. He "discounted" me a price of $3,800. I should've simply said "I'll pay you $1,000 -- take it or leave it" because I know this sort of repair with parts was still under that price. But I was just stupid and wrote the check. The receipt that he gave me has "disappearing ink, because the dollar numbers for parts and labor have simply disappeared now that I look at the carbon receipt. The receipt has printed on it the name "Garage Door and Gate Repair" with a phone number of 424-356-6196. But I was asked to write a check to "Local Garage Express". The repairman had to call me to get the gate code to my development here, and his number -- registered on my cell-phone was 747 256 8522 shown originating in Studio City.
