I received a voicemail stating “682-284-0703. If you failed to respond, we will assume you are waving your rights to voluntary restitution and move forward without your input legally.” When I called back they stated they were a company named First Step Servicing Inc. and that I had a payday loan from 2012 that I never paid. They provided me with my last four of my social an old address from 2012 and old jobs from 2012. They stated that they were with the mediation process to collect money before it goes to court. I told them that I’ve never received a loan from the company they stated “My Cash Now” I’ve never even heard of that place. They then sent me an email that was supposed to be a debt validation email but when they sent it, it had my name spelled wrong! The email didn’t look real to me. They threaten to take me court if I didn’t pay. I did not provide any funds and they stated that I would be getting a letter for court but they don’t have my current address. They are now calling and harassing my family who I haven’t heard from in years about this fake debt that I don’t have.
