The old IRS scam 713-239-4451 They called and left a robo voicemail, clearly non-human voice. The front was cut off since it went to voice mail, all I could hear in the message was a phone number followed by an emphatic, "DO NOT IGNORE THIS MESSAGE." I called them back and Mr. Thick Indian accent answered saying his name (which I couldn't understand.) I asked him who I was calling since the voice mail had cut it off and he said, "The investigation department of the Internal Revenue Service." He told me they were filing charges against me today because I had ignored them for so long. I asked him for the case number and he of course, balked. He then told me I need to stop talking and listen to him because he had important information to tell me. He then asked if I had a lawyer and when I said, "Yes, I actually have several," he hung up. I called back and Ms. Thick Indian Accent answered and told me she was with the Investigative department of the Internal Revenue Service. I told her I wanted to give her my laywers names and she hung up. Edit: And now they have blocked my number. When I call it gives me a message saying, "Sorry, but the user's message box can't accept more messages." I guess they block your number when they figure out you know they are scammers.
