Received email from Anup Das [email protected] with information about a remote technical writing job. Was told to reach out to the lead recruiter Mr. Michael Vidinich [email protected] (903) 392-9547 if I was interested. Not uncommon for grunts to do all of the spamming and redirect to "manager" and it looked interesting. Multiple rounds of email interviews over multiple days. They "evaluated the candidates" over the weekend. On Monday I heard that I got the job. On Tuesday morning I received email and phone call from Peter Leclercq [email protected] (717) 461-3236 welcoming me to the company and sending me first round of onboarding paperwork. With the second round they dropped the bomb that I would need Apple Laptop, Apple M5 chip with 10-core CPU, 10-core GPU, 16-core Neural Engine 32GB unified memory iPad Pro Max M5 512GB. Not only would I need this specific equipment, I would need to purchase it from their vendor so it could be pre-loaded with software I would be writing an API for and configured for the test/dev hardware. I've been an IT consultant for many years and the past decade in embedded systems. It is not unusual to be told a brand, number of core, and amount of memory. I have bought thousands of dollars in systems for projects. The difference is I bought them from a vendor of my own choosing, if I didn't already have something better in my office. The stench started here. What is normal is that they ship you a custom dev target [BBB Scam Type: Employment] [Business: Tallano Technolgies- Imposter Date R] [Location: IL, USA - 60941]
