On March 7, I got an email that my flight to Rome was canceled for March 8th. My sister found another flight through American Airlines for March 7. I couldn't find the same flight through my search engine so I asked ITA that while on the Phone with them if they could help me book a new flight. I told them I knew of a flight through American and they transferred me. From what I thought, I was on with American Airlines and at no time during my entire discussion did the person on the other line say they were from an agency. During the conversation, they told me that I needed to click on a link in order to hold the flight and I couldn't book the final flight until I clicked the link and paid $1410. I told them I didn't want to do that and why couldn't I just book the flight. They said that was the only way they could release the flight to be booked. Before I continued, they explained to me that it was just a hold and that I would be refunded the entire amount once I paid the $1410 and booked the final flight which was $800. In addition, I paid for the $800 while on the line with as well. They told me I would be refunded within the week. I flew out on March 7, and it's been almost a month now. I got disconnected from one number and they called me back to process the payment. On April 5, I called the credit card company and let them know the situation. They are putting in a claim for me based on the information I gave them. I also tried calling the numbers I called that day. One was 888-400-4570 and it rang busy after I dialed. The other was 833-611-9751 .and it was an answering machine. The email confirmation for the charge came from: stripe.com Jupiter Luxe LLC [email protected] , bounce.stripe.com.
