I received a Master Card Gift/Debit for Christmas. When I called to activate it Saturday 1-10-26 (833-623-4266) A recording said I had won / will recieve a $150.00 in promotions. Then a person came on and I told him I was only interested in activating my gitf card. He said he could do that. He asked for the normal information, card number, exp. date, and 3 digit code on the back. Then he wanted my address and birth date. I refused the birthdate and asked why he needed it and then he told me it wasn't important. he then said to finish the activation process, I needed to call a diffrent number. When I looked at my phone the number showing on my phone was 800-623-4200, not the number I dialed. I called the number he told me to call and it was DISH. I called the number on the card again and spoke to a lady and ask her why I had been asked for my birthdate by the previous agent. She said they don't. She said that the card was already activated. I mentioned that I thought something was wrong and assured me everthing was ok. A few days later , I received a letter from Ultimate Daily Savings stating I was a now a member, but if I wanted to cancel, I needed to do it within 15days otherwise my credit card would be charged $44.99 and the one time charge of $1.99 is all I would have to pay. I told them I never signed up and how did they get my card number. She said it was given to them over the phone. I got a confirmation number (81592) and it was cancelled. My gift Master Card Gift was used. Today 1/20/26 I received a letter from National Publications stating I have 15 days for $1.95 risk free trial. and if I didn't respond, a $34.95 charged would be deducted from my card. I called them and told them that I never talked to them or signed up for anything. She gave me a cancellation confirmation number (64412) No fradulant charges hve been made at this point.
