Person called and said they were from the Yellow Pages and wanted to update our profile for our online listing. She read off some old info that wasn't correct, so I gave her the correct info. She asked several questions, and I finally had enough, especially when she started talking about our Google listing. I told her we will take care of it, thanked her and hung up. Fast forward to today. I get a call that on my caller ID says "Private Number". I answered, because some of our customers will call in that way. It was the same company, calling to demand payment for a past due invoice from 2024 in the amount of $599. I told her we didn't have an invoice and she became very threatening and demanded payment. She then claimed she had a recording of me agreeing to pay said invoice. I asked her why I was billed for having my business on a Google listing and she replied with "it doesn't matter, you owe us"! I said "that's bull" and hung up on her. I then received a call a minute or so later from phone number 855-724-3365. It was the same woman. She played a recording and had somehow spliced my voice in there saying "yes" and "we'll take care of it", but the other voice on the recording was saying things that I never heard in the first phone call. It was completely fake. I then proceeded to tell her that I believed this was a scam and told her that we weren't paying and that I was going to report her.
