Fake IRS Scamming site # So, yesterday while working at a retail store, I had an elederly man come in, had to be about 80 years old, asking about Itunes gift cards. The gentleman said he had to pay 5 of them, for 100$ each, which immediately was a red flag and so I worked into the conversation, saying, "Spoiling the grand kids I see?" and he says, "No, this man from Microsoft said to fix my computer I've got to send him 500$ on these 100$ Itunes gift cards." Turns out, this old man was definitely getting scammed and had already sent them 500$ in gift cards, and they tricked him into saying to send them another 500$. We quickly deterred it, and explained to him what was going and hopefully he went home and the person doesn't call them back again. I don't have that particullar scammer's number, but today I recieved a call from a Kentucky phone number, stating it was the IRS and I had an arrest warrant out and to call back the number to get in touch with a representative about my case file. I called, knowing what it was and what I was expecting and was completely right, hearing what sounded like 50 people in the back ground answering the phones saying the same lines etc etc, some people I heard getting their social security numbers, so I was told by some friends I should bring this number's attention to Reddit, as I've never used Reddit in hopes we can mess with these scammers as much as we can so that we can hope to deter more scams this year.
