While abroad for work I googled Budget car rental US number for an upcoming trip to a different country. Found the first sponsored number seemingly affiliated with Budget, clicked it, called it, was connected with a representative. Everything seemed legit, gave my company credit card information and a personal email for the receipt of a document to sign. When I did receive it warning signals went off, seemed peculiar, went back to Google to verify Budgets number (one of which is: 800-218-7992 for US, and 800-472-3325 international), and I could not find the number I was on the phone with (877-572-3745) anywhere. While I was stalling the representative was pushing me to click the link and sign the document multiple times. I hung up. Immediately I'm called back by (888-274-1899) 8x in a row, back to back with maybe 2 seconds between each call before I block the number. Then i receive multiple more emails with links. I call my CC provider and they said they flagged a charge from the supposed company even though I hadn't signed any documents.
