A letter came in the postal mail from a company called JEFFERSON CAPITAL SYSTEMS LLC, dated Feb. 13, 2026 saying I owed $ to Fingerhut. I called them and immediately Coby asked for my JCS Reference # and last 4 digits of SS #. When I refused to give last 4 and explain that I am a recent victim of identity theft, he hung up. I called back a second time and waited 15 minutes before someone answered, said her name real quick, didn't quite catch it. Again, I wouldn't give SS #s and explained my situation and that all debts had been paid off, I owe nothing. She said she'd connect me to someone who handles that. Waited on hold for another 15 minutes and the system automatically disconnected me. Called back a third time, waited on hold for 15 mins. Hung up.
