Needed a chimney service because birds broke thru and built a little nest. Guy shows up telling us he can repair it and it will be good for 5 years for $900 or he can get me a new one for $4,000. We chose the first option. He also said he would throw in a chimney cleaning for free. We agreed. He went to get supplies. Was gone for an hour or two. Came back and finished the work right as the sun went down and it was dark out. Came back in said he was done. His name (allegedly) is Liam Yahuda - he did have an Israeli/Middle Eastern accent to him - lighter skinned Arabic man. I know his name because I paid partially in Zelle. He has a Raleigh, NC phone number (984)382-1483. He left and less than a week later I had to chase another bird out of the house stuck in the fireplace. We called and he told me that he would call back/set up an appointment with the company. Day went by - nothing. Then his blue texts (iMessage) turned green. His phone was not ringing when I’d call. Was sure I was blocked. I called the company “Quentin” at the office repeatedly told me he would have someone call me back “expect a call in the next couple minutes”. This has gone on for a week. No returned call. I am angry so I did some digging. Their entire company is a scam built using AI - and being operated by probably only one or two individuals. The pictures are obviously AI generated on their site. The google earth leads to the back of some random vacant building in NJ. They clearly used AI to generate 30+ 5 star Google reviews. Their website is substantially long with zero substance and many mistakes. They obviously have done this before because there is mentions to other household services not offered by any chimney companies. Different worlds. I am in the process of reporting them to law enforcement as well as ICE in the off chance that he is an illegal immigrant scamming people.
