I ordered 3 items from the website bellatorri.com which states Our Story A Father. A Daughter. One Standard. My father learned to work leather in a small Tuscan workshop when he was sixteen. By the time he was thirty, he could cut a hide blindfolded. In 1996, he opened Bellatorri—a promise to make bags the way the old masters did. No shortcuts. No machines. Just his hands, his tools, and leather from the same Florentine tannery his mentor used forty years before. I grew up on the workshop floor. While other kids played with dolls, I played with leather scraps. Dad would let me "help" by holding pieces while he stitched. I thought I was essential. Looking back, I probably slowed him down. But he never rushed me. He never told me to go away. He just let me watch and learn. When I was old enough, he taught me to stitch. It took three years before he said my work was good enough to sell. Three years of him inspecting every seam and handing it back. "Again." Now I work beside him every day. He still cuts every piece of leather himself—his cuts are within half a millimeter, every single time. I handle the stitching. Eight stitches per centimeter, double-needle saddle stitch. The same technique used in Tuscany for five hundred years. Nothing leaves our workshop until we're both satisfied. Dad checks my work. Then I check his. We argue sometimes. He wins more than I'd like to admit. People ask why we don't scale up. Hire more people. Make more bags. The answer is simple: we can't. Not without compromising. Every bag that leaves here has our name on it. Our reputation. Our promise. Each one takes six to eight hours to complete. We reject seventy percent of the hides we're offered. We use solid brass hardware, not plated zinc. We stitch by hand because machines can't feel when the leather wants to give. These bags aren't made to be replaced. I purchased what I thought to be hand stitched leather handbags on the Bellatorri.com website. The company stated these bags were hand stitched leather made in Italy. I orders two purses: The Gemma and the Rosa. They advertised them as full grain Tuscan Leather. When the purses finally arrived they were cheap plastic with a horrible chemical smell. The stitching is terrible and it appears the bags are made from a cheap vinyl of some kind and is very hard/ non pliable. I immediately emailed the company and demanded a refund. They stated they would give me a 10%discount to keep them. I demanded the return address. The return address is to a factory in CHINA! I spent $144 these cheap purses and I have no way of knowing if I will ever get my refund. @media (min-width:768px){.css-1w6dufj{-webkit-box-flex:0;-webkit-flex-grow:0;-ms-flex-positive:0;flex-grow:0;-webkit-flex-basis:auto;-ms-flex-preferred-size:auto;flex-basis:auto;width:calc(100% * 6 / var(--Grid-parent-columns) - (var(--Grid-parent-columns) - 6) * (var(--Grid-pa [BBB Scam Type: Counterfeit Product] [Business: Bellatorri Bags IMPOSTER Date Repor] [Location: CA, USA- 94510]
The website Bellatorri.com advertises quality leather products (boots and bags) at steep discounts. The products are supposedly made in the USA under the supervision of a fine Italian leather maker that has been in business since 1960. The products shipped are of very poor quality and do not match the quality advertised on the website. Purchased handbag from counterfeit website. Bellatorri.com advertised an authentic hand-stitched Italian leather bag, brown in color. What I received is a fake leather/plastic bag, orange in color with Chinese lettering on package. They did not charge sales tax or shipping. The website states they accept returns within 30 days with a full refund. I contacted them via email within 2 business days after receiving my item, requesting a refund. They informed me they are not accepting returns. When I replied I would be contacting BBB if they would not allow me to return my item, I received the same copied email.
