As an American living abroad in Canada, I am legally required to file my FBAR (Foreign Bank and Financial Accounts Report) each year. In attempting to do this yesterday, I accidentally used an unofficial, non-government website: https://efbar.org/file/ This appeared first on Google and I was unaware there were multiple sites that allowed one to file their FBAR. It asked for payment in order to file, and believing I was on the correct site, I paid. However, I very quickly realized I'd used a scammy site, because filing is free on the .gov site. I also did not receive a copy of my FBAR report; when filed on the .gov site, you are able to download and save a copy immediately. I have no idea if anything has been filed on my behalf or not as I have not received anything. @media (min-width:768px){.css-1w6dufj{-webkit-box-flex:0;-webkit-flex-grow:0;-ms-flex-positive:0;flex-grow:0;-webkit-flex-basis:auto;-ms-flex-preferred-size:auto;flex-basis:auto;width:calc(100% * 6 / var(--Grid-parent-columns) - (var(--Grid-parent-colu [BBB Scam Type: Government Agency Imposter] [Business: FBAR FILING] [Location: BC, CAN- V9R 0J6]
