Florida Mass Subpoenas I've searched and found a few posts about these sort of extortion cases, but I was wondering if anybody knew a bit about some of the newer ones? I received a mass subpoena in regards to case # 12-05673 CA 05 filed in Miami-Dade, Florida. From what I understand/have read from my use of "google-fu" - it's in regards to accessing an adult website with a user name/password that isn't yours (AND/OR downloading said content). I've checked into eff.org, dietrolldie, and fightcopyrighttrolls. Quite a few people are receiving these letters and recently they are specifically about this case. I understand if they were to actually file suit they would have to do so in my home state (which isn't Florida/etc). Furthermore- I know not to give out any info and to avoid their calls/letters/etc... however my question is this. What sort of process goes with this? I'm listed as a John Doe. I know once my ISP gives out my information lightspeed Media will have my name/address/email address/ and phone number. My phone number isn't even correct on my account to begin with- and it's an email addressof an old roommate- who never even used the address to begin with. Outside of getting correspondence or them digging deeper and finding my actual phone number I don't have many worries on this front... My worries are what does this mean for my PC. Has anybody heard of any instances where computer forensics get a warrant and go through someone's PC/info? This was the closest thing I could find to the case I received a letter in regards to : http://www.madisonrecord.com/news/239588-adult-entertainment-website-seeks-discovery-from-att-and-others-over-hacking Generally these things blow over, but I'm just worried as like most people, my pc is my life, I've got personal/private info on there that shouldn't be gone through by anybody but myself. I know the number one advice is Lawyer up, but really, I'm in no way shape or form capable of affording that cu
