A domain name trademark disupte Ok, I'm not going to give out what the domain names are, because they have my address and such in them. Here goes: I registered my domain name .org back in Feb 2010. I plan to use it but I have just not had the time for it yet. A few months ago, I discovered that someone had bought the .com version a few months after mine, the 9th of November (or the 11th of September (darn American dates)) in the same year. I emailed the owner if we could have the domain name and they responded with this: >Dear Sir >We could not answer your letter before about [my site's name]. >I [his name] is the owner of the trademark [my site's name] and I have the rights in all the world including UK. >You can check this with: >World Intellectual Property Organization (WIPO), i Genève. >www.wipo.org >and: >http://www.wipo.int/members/en/contact.jsp?country_id=62 >As you understand, if any one breaks the rules of those organizations can be punished according to the law in all the countries including your country. >I will give you one month from today it means until 15-05-2012 to give us the domain [my site's name].org. >The law gives us the right to prosecute any person who uses our trademark. I also own our Twitter name, YouTube, Wordpress and a bunch of others I think. I am I have sent a copy of this over to information@ipo.gov.uk I am worried about loosing my domain name which I have had longer than he has and I had big plans for the site to become quite big and well known. **I am also unable to lawer up because I simply can't afford it** so I am unsure about where I stand and what I can do to stop loosing my domain.
