In August 2204 I purchased what was advertised as $2.14 one-day access to generate a QR code through MyQRCode.com. At no point did I intend to enroll in an ongoing subscription. I later discovered that I had been automatically enrolled in a $40 per month subscription after the trial period. I did not receive any email notification confirming the subscription enrollment, recurring billing, or monthly charges. I also did not use the service beyond the initial one-day access. The recurring charges continued for approximately 12 months, totaling approximately $480, before I became aware of them while reviewing my bank statements. When I contacted the company, they stated they only refund charges within 30 days and declined to provide reimbursement beyond that timeframe. Given that I did not knowingly authorize a recurring subscription and did not receive billing notifications, I believe this practice is misleading and unfair. I am requesting a reasonable partial refund reflecting the unused subscription period.
