I am submitting this complaint to report a suspected employment scam conducted under the name “Pechanga Arena San Diego.” I applied for a remote Operations Coordinator position and was contacted via email from addresses using the domain @pechangaarenasd.us. The communication included professionally written interview invitations, a detailed job description and company overview, and a chat-based interview conducted through Microsoft Teams with an individual identifying herself as Jenefer Jackson (Human Resources Manager). I was also contacted by phone prior to receiving an offer, which increased the appearance of legitimacy. Following the interview, I received a formal offer of employment through DocHub, signed by Ryan Golden, along with onboarding communications that appeared authentic and well-structured. Shortly after, I received messages from “Payroll” stating that my direct deposit had issues and that they would instead issue an electronic check (e-check) to cover home office equipment. At that point, the situation escalated into concerning behavior. I was asked to: • Confirm my bank’s daily deposit limits • Navigate my personal mobile banking app • Confirm whether my account was new or existing • Accept an e-check to purchase equipment These requests are not standard or appropriate for legitimate onboarding. When I expressed discomfort and declined to proceed with receiving an e-check or confirming banking limits, the individual became persistent and attempted to pressure me to continue. I disengaged once it became clear the process aligned with known fake check / employment fraud patterns. I did not deposit any checks, provide banking screenshots, or lose money.
