Threatened With Libel on a Forum I got the following email after posting on a public ruckus (moped) forum about my really bad experience dealing with this particular company. This whole forum (totalruckus.com) is full of reviews and opinions on products from companies, just like any other car forum. I feel like I am being bullied in a way that prevents me from saying anything other than positive reviews. Is there anything I can do? Obviously my first priority is NOT getting in a legal battle over my opinion and experience with a company selling moped parts. I do think they are scummy assholes and my statements were all based on either my own opinion or experience dealing with them. I have removed all of my posts about their company and replaced them with this. "Removing ALL posts I've ever made about Buggy Depot. Their owner has sent me an email threatening to take legal action against me for slander for posting my opinions and experiences with them on a public forum that is full of people doing EXACTLY that with many other companies. I don't have the time or money to fight you buggy depot, so you win...congrats." What would you do if you were in my situation? I am not willing to risk legal trouble, but they really shouldn't get away with this kind of bullying. I mean it can't be legal to scare people out of leaving bad reviews and warning others of a bad experience. That makes NO sense to me at all. Please help me find some way to make this right.
