I am submitting this complaint regarding UnitedPassport.com. This website presents itself in a way that closely resembles an official U.S. government passport service, which I found misleading. It is not affiliated with the U.S. Department of State, yet the design and language of the site make it appear to be an official passport application platform. After entering my personal information and paying a service fee, I learned that the company does not actually process passports. Instead, they provide printed forms and instructions that are freely available through the official U.S. Department of State website (travel.state.gov). I was not clearly informed upfront that this was only a third-party form preparation service. As a result, I paid a substantial fee for services that I could have completed myself at no cost, aside from the standard government passport fees. I am also concerned about the amount of sensitive personal information collected by this company. I believe the website’s presentation is misleading and may cause consumers to think they are using an official government service. I am requesting a refund and asking that this matter be reviewed to prevent other consumers from being similarly misled. .css-1w6dufj{-webkit-box-flex:0;-webkit-flex-grow:0;-ms-flex-positive:0;flex-grow:0;-webkit-flex-basis:auto;-ms-flex-preferred-size:auto;flex-basis: [BBB Scam Type: Government Agency Imposter] [Business: United Passport] [Location: CA, USA- 94583]
I searched online for the official U.S. passport application website and clicked on what appeared to be a legitimate result. The website, unitedpassport.com, was presented in a way that closely resembled an official government passport service. Based on the way the site appeared in search results and how the service was presented, it was reasonable to believe that I was completing an application through the official U.S. Department of State website. After submitting the forms, I realized this company is actually a third-party service that charges fees to process passport application forms that are freely available directly from the U.S. government at travel.state.gov. I immediately requested cancellation of the applications and a full refund. Instead of resolving the issue, the company has attempted to impose additional “transaction” or cancellation fees and has introduced unnecessary procedural requirements before issuing any refund. The core issue is that the company’s advertising and website presentation create the misleading impression that it is the official passport application website, which can easily confuse consumers searching for the legitimate government service. I am requesting the following resolution: Immediate cancellation of all applications associated with my order A full refund of all charges without any transaction or cancellation fees I believe the way this service is advertised and presented online is misleading and causes consumers to unknowingly pay unnecessary fees for services that are freely available from the U.S. government. .css-c8hvdp{--Grid-columns:12;-webkit-flex-direction:row;-ms-flex-direction:row;flex-direction:row;min-width:0;box-sizing:border-box;display:-webkit-box;display:-webkit-flex;display:-ms-flexbox;display:flex;-webkit-box-flex-wrap:wrap;-webkit-flex-wrap:wrap;-ms-flex-wrap:wrap;flex-wrap:wr [BBB Scam Type: Online Purchase] [Business: United Passport] [Location: FL, USA- 34787]
