Fell for a Debt Collector scam. A few months back my wife got a call from a company going by CFS and Associates. A bully named Don Mac said she owed a debt of $700 to ace check cashing from back in 2007. It sounded legit because back when she was just out of high school she left home young and basically survived by taking out large loans from check cashing stores. She was pregnant at the time and called me in hysterics because they told her that there was a warrant out for her arrest and if she didn't come up with $350 by the end of the day she was going to jail. I didn't know what to do. We are a relatively young couple trying to start a family and her being a month from having the baby we basically freaked out and paid it. My gut told me that something was very wrong with this situation but they played on our emotions and we were the fools in the end. Yup we we had been had. I think these kind of people deserve to die. Don't be a dummy and just hand your hard earned money out to liars and thieves.

I did a bit of digging on the company (which he asked me to do) and it seems it might be some sort of scam/boiler room type job. just wandering if anyone had any information or if someone had some experience in this type of field; what do they think?! I had emailed her requesting more information and she responded quickly. The story was her mother had passed and had 3 puppies that the family just wanted to get rid of.. all i had to do was pay shipping. I googled her email address and whoever this person is has a ton of complaints on, whocallsme.com for puppy scams and a couple of other things. After reading all of that, i got an email from her describing the puppy and sending a picture. She informed me that we live too far away from her and we could ship the puppy. I emailed her back and told her my husband was at the airport on the first flight to florida and asked where to meet her. obviously i havent heard from her since. I guess my question is, is there really ***nothing*** that can be done? one person had put on whocallsme that they had paid $350 for shipping and then was asked to pay an additional $550.
