Got a call from a local number (240)204 8644 and picked up. When I did it was an automated message to resolve an escalating matter and to press 1 to resolve the matter" When I did it connected me to someone that asked me my name and if the last 4 of my SSN was "XXXX" . They had my information so it seemed legit. They told me I owed an outstanding balance from a loan taken out years ago that was never paid off. The balance was a little over $1K. I do remember taking a loan from them but I have been paid up on every loan and currently have $0 debt. They insisted that I make a payment today and even agreed to settle for $700. I explained I would need to see documentation and paper trail of when they contacted me. They said several letters were sent to 3 of my previous addresses and listed them. Again it seemed they had all of my information. There is no collected on my credit though and I have never been called, emailed, or received any letters that I know of. This person insisted I put it on a debit card because they were a law firm and could not accept credit. Big red flag. I asked again to see documentation on all of this and they refused and insisted I either pay today via debit or they woulds mark me down as refusal to pay and would see me in court. I refused.... The name of the company they identified as being a law firm was Resolve Financial Services out of Timber Pines, FL. He gave me a number to call back (866) 575-7934 [BBB Scam Type: Advance Fee Loan] [Business: Resolve Financial Services Date Repo] [Location: MD, USA- 21009]
