On February 11, 2026, I searched online for a garage door repair company and called the first number that appeared in my search results: 262-435-5549, which was answered by someone named Angel who identified the business as “Horizon” Garage Repair. I requested that a service technician call me with a quote before anyone was dispatched. Shortly afterward, I received a call from 262-765-9266, and that representative quoted me a price range of $250–$400. An unmarked pick up truck arrived to perform the repair. The technician initially quoted $250 for parts + labor to install a set of two springs. Moments later, he revised the total to $650, which seemed reasonable at the time, so I authorized the work. However, after beginning the repair, the technician informed me the cost would actually exceed $1,800. At that point, it was clear the pricing had become deceptive, and I told him to stop work immediately. I called the number 262-765-9266 to express my concern, and that representative spoke with the technician. The price was then reduced to $850. When the job was completed, I was charged $779. Today, the garage door is inoperable again. I called and was told they would send someone out but no one came. When I researched the customer-service number on the invoice (800-658-0115) to call to complain, I found similar complaints on the BBB scam tracker website, indicating this company may have a pattern of misleading pricing practices and substandard workmanship. I am filing this complaint because the company’s conduct appears to involve bait-and-switch pricing, lack of transparency, unmarked vehicles, poor-quality repairs, and misrepresentation of business identity.
