I missed my flight from Vegas to Minneapolis and called the number on the back of my American Express Delta card. I inadvertently picked up the first six digits of the Delta number (800-323-2323) and the last four of the American Express International number (336-393-1111). The person answered as Delta, so I didn't catch that anything was wrong. After being on the phone for a while, I found it odd that it took her so long to make the change and that she kept putting me on hold, but I figured it might be because she was a new hire in training. I have called Delta many times in the past, and they are always fast, friendly, and accommodating. In the end, I was charged for the ticket change, which I found odd since I have never been charged before and can do a same-day change. This person (lady) is a travel agent but has nothing to do with Delta. I think the number mix-up is common, as the International number is listed just above the Delta customer service number, and I am sure the probability of someone picking up the last four of the International number is quite high. Needless to say, this whole situation smells of a scam all the way around. Very deceptive, especially under the circumstances of missing your flight, being in [BBB Scam Type: Travel/Vacation/Timeshare] [Business: Airline Services - Delt
