At the end of August 2025, we sought to cancel an international flight with Lufthansa due to a family medical matter. We called 833-505-6604 which appeared on line to be a Lufthansa number to cancel and request a refund. Two days later, we received an email from [email protected] ("booking") advising of a refund and a debit of a cancellation fee of $1400.00 to be made to the credit card used for the Lufthansa ticket purchase. Weeks passed as we made several telephone and email inquires to "booking." Refund promises were continued to be made. Calls to Lufthansa were fruitless. Finally, we filed a complaint with the US Dept of Transportation's Office of Aviation Consumer Protection (claim # ************) citing Lufthansa. The airline replied that it had received no direction to cancel our flight, no refund was due, and "booking" was not a valid representative of the airline. A second claim was filed with USDOT OACP (claim 3 ************) against "booking." No response has been received on this complaint. As of 12/26/2025, the 833-505-6604 number continues to be answered.
