What Scam Detective is

The Site is an informational resource that aggregates and displays reports of suspected scam, spam, and fraudulent activity associated with phone numbers, websites, email addresses, and businesses. It combines reports submitted by users with information drawn from publicly available sources, including FTC, FCC, BBB, and CFPB complaint data.

Nature of the information, please read

The information on the Site is not verified fact and is not an accusation of wrongdoing by any person or business. Reports reflect the experiences, opinions, and statements of third parties who submitted them, together with aggregated public complaint data. We do not independently investigate, verify, or adjudicate individual reports.

Risk scores, classifications, and summaries shown on the Site are automated estimates generated from reported data. They are provided for informational purposes only, may be inaccurate or incomplete, and should not be treated as a definitive statement about any number, website, email, or business.

A listing on the Site does not mean a person or business has engaged in illegal or fraudulent activity. You should not rely solely on the Site to make decisions, and you should independently verify any information that matters to you.

Acceptable use

You agree not to:

• Submit false, misleading, defamatory, or harassing reports.
• Submit reports targeting a person or business for reasons unrelated to genuine suspected scam or spam activity.
• Scrape, harvest, or bulk-download Site data except as expressly permitted.
• Use the Site to violate any law or the rights of others.
• Interfere with or disrupt the Site or attempt to gain unauthorized access to it.

Your submissions

When you submit a report or other content, you confirm that it is truthful to the best of your knowledge, reflects your genuine experience or opinion, and does not knowingly contain false statements. You grant us a non-exclusive, worldwide, royalty-free license to display, aggregate, reproduce, and adapt your submission in connection with operating the Site. We may edit, decline to publish, or remove any submission at our discretion.

Disputes and removal

If you are associated with a number, website, email, or business listed on the Site and believe a listing is inaccurate or should be removed, use our dispute process or contact us at our contact form. We review dispute requests and will correct or remove information where appropriate. Submitting a dispute does not guarantee removal, but we take good-faith requests seriously.

Affiliate links

Intellectual property
