I purchased carpeting for my stairs from Lon VonAsten at Empire Today after receiving an in home visit and proposal. I have no complaints with the carpet or the installation. However, Lon stated that if I spent over $1000, I would receive a $250 Amazon gift card. After I made the final payment, I was told by Lon in a text that the gift card had been mailed to my house. On January 3, 2026, I texted Lon and told him that I still have not received the gift card. He texted that I should call 800.588.2300. I talked to Shirley and then John Luna, Call Center Supv, at this number. John L said they did not show any record of it being sent and that I would need to refer a new customer in order to receive the gift card. I explained that this requirement was not part of our original agreement. He said he referred my case to the Gift Card department and gave me reference #1-839-528-80468. I have also filed a fraud claim with Chase credit card.
