Community Reports

Received an incoming call which showed up as 845-429-1711 Chase - which seems to be a legitimate number for Chase. However, the person calling claimed to have received a report from Experian saying that I was selected to be eligible for a lower rate on a credit card. The caller identified the name of the business as "Card Services". The first line caller refused to give me a callback number. However, they transferred me to a "manager" after a few probing questions like how much credit card debt do you have. I did not provide real info, just fake info enough to get transferred and hopefully get a phone number. It was clearly a scam derived to try and get personal info from me. The call back number provided was 888-315-8752. The caller said their name was "Eric Wilson". When calling the number back, there were 5 other extensions that were available, with fake names. So sad that this type of scam is working with so many people. Years ago my mom fell victim to something similar, and lost over $10,000.
