On December 15, 2025, I searched online for Geico auto insurance and called the phone number 877-616-0883, believing it to be an official Geico contact. The individual who answered the phone identified himself as Maverick Austin and claimed to represent Geico. During the call, the individual asked questions consistent with an insurance application and requested payment it initiate coverage. Believing this to be a legitimate transaction, I provided my personal information and credit card details. I later discovered that the payment was processed under the business name "Future Rankers," which is not affiliated with Geico.
