Debt-reduction contacts, spread across 132 complaints, represent the second-largest fraud pitch in the code and suggest callers are targeting financially stressed households with credit card, mortgage, or student loan lures.

Medical and prescription solicitations account for 74 complaints, with 301-868-0777 pulling 10 of them. Home improvement and cleaning pitches add another 52 complaints; 301-710-0134 is the most active number in that group at 14 complaints. Reported locations tied to this activity cluster around Silver Spring, Beltsville, Smithsburg, Annapolis, and Rockville, concentrating exposure in the Maryland suburban corridor.

The four highest-complaint individual numbers, 301-881-3052 at 24, 301-349-9473 at 20, 301-302-9555 at 18, and 301-301-4931 at 14, carry no category assignment despite collectively drawing 76 complaints. That volume without a clear scam signature is notable; it may indicate callers cycling through scripts or testing pitches before committing to a single fraud type.

At rank 124 out of 358 area codes overall, 301 sits in the upper middle of the national complaint distribution, but its sibling rank of 17 out of 44 geographic codes tells a tighter story.
