Campaign Narrative

**Medical Clinical Trial Scam Campaign Analysis**

Our cybersecurity team has identified a coordinated scam campaign utilizing two connected domains: medisato.co and w.medisato.co. The subdomain w.medisato.co was registered through NAMECHEAP INC on October 2, 2025, and analysis shows both domains are being reported together by consumers with a confidence level of 0.35, indicating they are part of the same fraudulent operation.

The scam targets consumers through unsolicited text messages promising substantial payments for participation in fake medical clinical trials. Community reports document specific instances where victims received messages offering $2,948, $2,849, and $2,729 respectively for clinical trial participation. These messages create artificial urgency by claiming limited spots remain (typically 3-4 spots) and include direct links to the fraudulent domains. The messages are formatted to appear medical in nature, beginning with "MD:" to suggest medical authority, and include phrases like "Black Friday Notice," "Last Notice," and "offer ends this Friday" to pressure immediate action.

Consumer impact data shows multiple reports across different time periods, with messages being distributed through short code numbers like 27078. All reported instances have been classified as phishing scams by the Better Business Bureau. The campaign appears to be actively ongoing, with reports spanning from November 2025, and the consistent messaging patterns indicate a systematic approach to targeting potential victims with promises of easy money through medical trial participation.

**Consumer Protection Guidance**

To protect yourself from this and similar scams, never click on links in unsolicited text messages promising money for clinical trials or medical studies. Legitimate clinical trials are conducted through established medical institutions and require extensive screening processes - they do not recruit participants through random text messages. If you receive suspicious messages, do not respond or click any links. Instead, report these scams immediately to the Federal Trade Commission at reportfraud.ftc.gov or file a complaint with the FCC. You can verify the safety of suspicious phone numbers and domains by checking consumer protection websites and scam databases before taking any action.

This campaign represents a moderate threat level due to its targeted phishing approach and impersonation of medical services. The use of multiple connected domains suggests an organized operation designed to evade detection. Consumers should remain vigilant for similar medical-themed scam messages and continue reporting suspicious communications to help authorities track and shut down these fraudulent operations.
