Would E-Mail aliases be worth it if I only use it to generate 4-5 aliases that I then use for most accounts? After using gmx and yahoo for way too long I finally decided on looking for another mail service. Currently I'm considering Proton, maybe with SimpleLogin. I'd start with the free versions (though I'd okay with upgrading if I'm happy with it), so no unlimited aliases. However, if I were to use aliases I'd probably create one for direct communication with people that looks good (like LastName@alias.com), another for gaming, and a few for some accounts that would group nicely together (streaming services etc.). I usually use one mail for general life stuff and one for gaming accounts. As I'm quite new to all this I don't really know if there's a benefit to doing the whole alias thing? I know there's benefits to creating an alias for every single account you create, but to be honest I know I'd be too lazy for that anyway. What I'm worried about if I use aliases is that if the alias provider shuts down, none of my mails would work, right? I guess the same goes for when the mail provider shuts down, but I'm somewhat more worried about the alias provider, probably mostly due to unfamiliarity. And if I only use a couple of aliases companies can probably still create a good picture of who I am.
